Named 2005's AVN Award winner as Best Transsexual Performer, Vicki Richter has a lot to be proud of. We took a few minutes to chat with her about her experiences in the industry, her more private fantasies and her love of sci-fi and fantasy.
Eros Zine: How did you get your start in the adult industry? Did you start with videos or still photos?
Vicki Richter: I was one of those rare performers who started out first with video. I had already been in several videos by the time I made the rounds with the popular transsexual web sites like Bob's TGirls, Shemaleyum, and Franks Tgirls.
My first video was Transsexual Beauty Queens #15, followed closely with the first Shemale Sex Pistols. I got featured in both of them. From there I got a great opportunity to work for Joey Silvera on Rogue Adventures #15. I topped my first guy in that video. It was a pretty good start. The way I got my start was pretty simple. I looked up the directors (or their companies) on the web, and emailed them pictures of myself. I was also willing to come to LA to shoot which has been a plus.
EZ: How many adult videos have you been in?
VR: I've only made about 30 videos I think. There have also been a few compilations that just reuse some of my scenes. I've been pretty selective since winning the AVN award last year. Since a repeat is fairly unheard of, I wasn't really motivated to push it again like I did in 2004. I think I will wrap up this year with only 3-4 new scenes. Shooting less frequently is good in our genre since it keeps performers fresh. The downside is less money and exposure.
EZ: Who are your favorite performers and/or directors to work with?
VR: My favorite director is Joey Silvera of Evil Angel. He knows this, of course. I've been very fortunate to work for him over the years in several of his projects. He has a style of directing which brings out the best in the people working for him and he has very high standards which I appreciate. I also think Sammy Mancini of Strokers and Joanna Jet are doing some really good stuff in the transsexual space. I've enjoyed working with each of them. The other company I really like is Devil's Films. For integrity and quality those four companies are the best I've worked for.
I have three favorite transsexual performers: Danielle Foxxx,
Joanna Jet, and Vo D'Balm. I've worked with all three of them
in scenarios where we tag team someone else or are sexually
active with each other. They are just way too much fun and very
good human beings off the set as well. I have pretty high standards
and I find them all physically attractive too which is important
for a good scene. I would also say that Gia
Darling was my first inspiration. She's a truly exceptional
transsexual (see I can give props to people I haven't been friends
with). My favorite female performers would have to be Christie
Lee, Arianna
Jolie, Julie
Night, and Bella
Donna. All of them were super cool, super sexual, and very
professional. I've had some great opportunities to work with
some of the top female talent in the adult industry.
EZ: What's your recipe for the perfect adult video -- either starring in it or watching it?
VR: I like really hard, nasty, condomless anal. Usually, if I watch videos, I'll watch the straight stuff where there are at least two guys to one girl. I love watching DP's or double anal. It's just good television. Alternatively, although a lot of my scenes have been threesomes or more-somes, I really prefer working with another performer one-on-one. I like to be able to be attentive to one person. It doesn't really matter to me that they are male or female as long as I can concentrate on them and what we are doing to each other's bodies. I actually get this performance anxiety thing when I am working with too many other performers. When you're in a room with great performers like Danielle Foxxx, Joanna Jet, or Vo it's almost like a competition in my mind. I can't really compete with folks like that. However, I think I'm among the best in one-on-one scenes where I'm not competing for the spotlight, I am just having a good time.
I don't like scenes where performers are just going through the motions so much. I had a preconception that porn was all like that when I started. I mean how could a girl or guy working 5 days a week having sex still be into it? Then I started seeing the female performers masturbating with toys before and during scenes, hanging out with them off camera, and I found that they really really are into sex that much (at least the good ones). From Belladonna with her huge bootie toy collection to Ava Devine and her sperm ice cubes.
EZ: Who takes the pics on your site? Do you work with a variety of photographers or are there a few that you favor?
VR: All kinds of photographers. I've probably worked with 20ish photographers and I still occasionally will take pix myself with a timer. I prefer working with photographers obviously because it's way less of a hassle and you get to see yourself through someone else's eye. Photography is an art form which is why each set is so unique. I could take three sets in the same outfit with different photographers and you'd get a different vibe and perspective of me from each.
If you want to film me, and think you can bring out the best in me, look me up. I'm always looking to get more pictures taken.
EZ: Where are you from originally, and where are you living now?
I am from Southern California, but currently live in Scottsdale, Arizona. I really like it on the west coast and southwest. I really couldn't imagine living anywhere else at this point. From Vegas casinos, to dance clubs in LA... It all happens here really.
EZ: You say you're a computer geek and like sci-fi and fantasy books. What are your favorites? Do you like sci-fi erotica?
VR: I like more mainstream stuff. I liked Tolkien, especially before he was immortalized by Hollywood. I used to read all his books about once every 2 years. I guess my favorite author would be Tad Williams. He's great. Also Terry Brooks and Terry Goodkind are great authors who I enjoy. I guess I am more into the whole fantasy fiction that true sci-fi for reading. I think the sci-fi comes in more for videos or movies. I love Star Wars and Star Trek. I'm such a huge fan. The geek part of me is definitely computers. I have five and none of the older broken down types. I think my slowest non-laptop is three gigahertz. I get into all the stuff like gaming and home multi-media PC's.
As far as sci-fi erotica, I'd have to read it. I am pretty sure I'd enjoy it. There was this one book that I checked out at my high school library (yes really) which involved this dominant two leg walking, talking reptile-like race with humans being subservient. I don't remember anything about the book other than this female lizard mistress made her human male slave have sex with her... several times throughout the book. It was a great read. There is also a website with some fantasy era erotica that I really got into. Again it ended up with Minotaurs having really rough sex with small cat-like humanoid females (I forget what they called them). It was pretty hot overall.
My mind is really powerful for fantasy visualization so a lot of times reading about something hot is way better for me than seeing it. I'd say I would take a hot story over watching a video most of the time. It's just something that gets me off.
EZ: You say on your site that you like to be spoiled rotten -- how would someone spoil you rotten?
VR: Why? Are you interested? [smile] I like simple things that are sometimes expensive. For example I like red wine (Merlot, Pinot, and especially Cabs), a nice meal, a great hotel... shopping is great. Lets take a hypothetical scenario of going to Vegas, staying at the Venetian, doing some gambling (I'm fine with being arm candy although I really like to lose at blackjack), shopping at Caesars, and then going to a great show like The Fashionistas [winks at John and Karen], or "O". Even stuff like a basketball game and "Blue Man Group" would be a lot of fun [wink]. Obviously great sex would be the best part... I define great as several orgasms over multiple hours. Then sleeping and waking up in someone's arms. Someone who isn't afraid to pull out all the stops once in a while is definitely an ideal.
EZ: You say on your bio page that your measurements are 36-27-37 but are about to change. What's the change?
VR: Well, I had some new breasts installed in September. I was a 34B, I am now a 34D. My implants were 280cc now they are 600cc. It's a pretty big difference. I've gotten a lot of compliments about them. It is strange because I've always marketed myself as the girl next door. Having bigger boobs kind of takes away the girl persona and makes me more of a woman. I haven't had them long enough to appreciate that one way or the other. I still get carded when I go to clubs so I guess that is the most important thing.
I'm actually really proud of the fact that with the exception of my breasts and some sculpturing lipo that my body is all me. I think a lot of girls turn to alternative means to get bootie before working on natural means. Diet and exercise can go a long way.
